Looking at this image of planet earth should be one of the profoundest things for a human being to do.
But how many of us feel in any way strange or realize the bizarreness of being alive today?
The universe is about 6 billion years old, this planet is here only a few million years, and life as we know it only a few hundred thousand years, and then to top it off we humans are here only about 30,000 years
Modern science today feels it nearly knows how the universe works, where and when it came from, how it came about and where it is going.
That is great, we have come a long way in a very short space of time
But what is even stranger and more fascinating is the fact that anything is here in the first place. Think about it, all this energy exists in this universe, where is it from, what was there before it??
Some scientists reckon we live in one of an infinite amount of universes
Others think our universe keeps expanding out into infinity
Whereas Billy Connolly thinks our very large universe is just a little atom that is making up a gigantic cup of tea.
But all those visions of reality don’t really matter, because the bottom line is that EXISTENCE is.

How many people only come to the realization that they are alive on their deathbed?
