LINKS Send me a link to a site, but I don't just take any old crap you know. It's got to be about Futurama, censorship or something really really good. Peel (Planet Express Employee Lounge), the best Futurama board I've found - the people on there helped this site immeasurably, and there's always something to argue about. Sorry, 'discuss'. The Leela Zone, (or Futurama Madhouse) dedicated to all things Leela, linked to this site for which I am eternally grateful! The idea for this site came from 'The Snipsons', which was an invaluable resource in finding out what Sky and BBC2 censored from The Simpsons. I say "was", because the site was last updated in January 2000 and ceased to exist around 2002 with no possibility of returning. So that link is dead. I just keep it there to remind me of its memory. This site (also dead now) was a worthy replacement: Simpsorama.com had cuts, primarily from The Simpsons, and also from Futurama, Friends, Family Guy etc. |
ANTI MUSIC CENSORSHIP: TabooTunes.com is a book by Peter Blecha that chronicles censorship of songs, lyrics and album covers through history. The site's also got a good link page to similar sites. The ROC has campaigned for rock music to be uncensored and free of 'Explicit lyrics' stickers since 1989, having travelled and campaigned on the tours of bands like Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie, Guns N' Roses, Nine Inch Nails and, er, The Offspring. It's time to kick out the jams, motherfuckers! (And so on.) |
In 2001, I got a letter printed on the Melon Farmers anti-censorship site, which led to the biggest number of hits on this site ever! This upturn in business only lasted for about three days, and none of the people were Futurama fans so none went beyond my homepage, but I won't hold it against those bastards. Still, the site's good. Even if they do seem overly keen on sex shops. Not getting any, eh? Oh wait, I'm meant to agree with them. Er, continue to fight the power, my friends! (And so on.) |
