Howdy! My name is Ben, and I am a streetbusker. I've lived from this trade seven years now (now is 2000). Both summer and winter, up in the polar areas whole winters. Freezing my fingertips til my skin peeled off. Reactions have varied. Somtimes mistaken for a junkie, sometimes for a musician too good to be playing on the streets. Playing music is a great challenge, it's like fighting a war against a whole nation alone sometimes, your machinegun is your guitar, your harmonica and voice (screaming your guts out) are your missiles. Sometimes it feels like the lonliest trade you can have, but cannot image having a better job. Maybe I am a machocist, or plain stupid, but I wouldn't change the good times I've had for anything. Allthough I rome the northernmost part of europe most of the year, I've been basking around in Africa and on Hawaii, and all over europe. So watch out, I might just show up in your town one day. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, wouldn't that be a treat for ya?
Jokes aside, this life may be hard, but nobody tells you what to do, and that is sort of addictive. The best times are when the weather is good, and you are able to move someone. My greatest work on the streat is when I am able to connect to people in a clearly stressfull and materialistic oriented world. If I can affect someones thoughts to a richer reflection on life, or just to remember that there is more to creation then one moght see. Does this sound like somthing out of the 70's? Well, I guess that's because not all that much have changed in the western world that I know.
Pop and glamour is not for me, it seems like this web is full of it, but I want my music and my webpages to appeal to those who believe that there is more to life and wants to make a difference. To all of those people I want to say one thing: Action!
