August 2005 Report
August is shapping up to be a hard slog month for Lasts and Lasts Motorsport. But, there are some battles that seem to be lost from the start. More sponsor funding issues have meant that Lasts and Lasts were unable to get the Engine and Gearbox on the Lasts and Lasts Elfin sealed. The issues also prevented practice time at either Oran Park or Wakefield Park, meaning that these rounds were out of the question.
Lasts and Lasts team members have been trying to do everything in their power to drum up sponsor attention to bring in some extra income, but to no avail. With 3/5 days off uni this semester, Driver Kirsty has been looking for work in both the Illawarra and Sydney, also prooving fruitless.
Team boss Danny has been putting in the long hours to get the Elfin back on the road, but all of this is for nought if the team cannot even afford to go to a practice day.
"We knew that this was going to be hard from the start. Good things aren't meant to be easy to do. They are worthwhile. And this deffinantly is. Everytime I get a rejection letter from a company I ask myself is this the last straw? But I am too stubborn. And I think that is a good thing. If it was that easy for me to give up on this then it isn't worth doing." Said driver Kirsty Last.
