ABOUT ME....

"As Time Goes By" performed by Ginger Haydon
Hi, my name is Ginger Haydon, and I just wanted to introduce myself to you
and to thank you for taking the time to view my webpages.

I really enjoy constructing the webpages and being able to share them with you. I began creating webpages in October of 1999. As in all big projects,
it all began with just one little step. I feel like I have travelled a long way
since then, and it has been an enjoyable and satisfying journey. I've enjoyed
hearing from people all over the world regarding my various pages. It has also been very special hearing from family members of some of the classic
film stars whom I have spotlighted. I have felt like  their communication
with me has been a confirmation of their acceptance with their loved one's
particular site.

I am married with children--a son and a daughter, both in their 20's. I took
the big leap and went back to college when my children were older, and in 1996, I received my Bachelor of Music Education Degree. I am presently
a full-time piano teacher. My studio is located in my home. I teach on the
average of about 75-80 students each week. These are 30 minute private lessons. I love teaching piano and having the opportunity to share my
knowledge of music with the students on a one-to-one basis. Music has always been a very big and important part of my life. A very special time for me was about three years ago when I played dinner music in a restaurant.
The wonderful standards of the 1930's, 1940's, and 1950's are my favorites,
and I got a chance to play them to my heart's content.
I "used" to be so cute...
But then...I had to grow up....
Another very special interest in my life has been movies..especially the
classic films of the 1930's-1960's. The seed for this interest was probably
planted by my grandfather and my father. My grandfather and I used
to stay up many late nights watching old movies together on television. I
probably was about 5 or 6 years old when we began doing this, and during
summer vacations or week-end visits when there was no school the next day,
that was just our special time together. He knew the names of many of the actors
AND the character actors. He would elaborate on them ,and I was all ears.
....Also, my father was a movie theater manager in a small town in Arkansas
during the 1940's. He ran the projector and saw all of the great films, not-
so- great- films, serials, cartoons, etc. I grew up hearing stories about these days and he too would elaborate on various actors and actresses. What can I say? All of this just took root and grew into a great love and appreciation
of classic films which continues to exist to this day. It has been a pleasure
to finally get a real chance to express my appreciation for a few of my
favorites of this time period-Susan Hayward, Robert Ryan,Audrey Totter,
Lucille Ball, Shirley Temple, and Ginger Rogers....It seems the torch has been passed...my daughter just recently graduated from film school. Her mom
took her to many movies during her young life and so now she desires to be a
real working part of the film industry.
~~I also have a very special page which pays tribute to my grandmother...
Geneva Maxson Holland...She was a very wise, strong and loving "rock" in
our family. I have been glad to have a chance to share her with others . She
was a woman of great faith and determination. The lives of Geebie (as we called her) and her family crossed paths over a period of several years with
Mrs. Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The story is inspiring. I hope you will take
a look at Geebie's webpage.~~
