Scaled detailed map from Dungog to Karuah River Rally site.

Black solid lines are tar roads, Red lines are dirt roads, and dashed red lines are dirt tracks. Blue lines are rivers/creeks. The dirt roads can be slippery when wet

Bottom Route (about 20 km)
Leaving Dungog to the northeast, take the second road on the left after crossing the train line (about 4 km). Take the next left about 2 km on, it is on a curve so you almost go straight. A few more kms on the road turns to dirt. Stay on the main track! You go past Main Creek on the right and about 3 km further on is the Skimmings Gap Rd. straight on, with the Frying Pan Creek Rd. on the right. The rally site is the Frying pan creek site, so you turn right and you are there, almost.

Top Route (about 30 km)
This has less dirt than the bottom route but has a water crossing (concrete base) that can be very slippery! Take the Chichester (sorry about the spelling on the map!) Dam road out of Dungog and follow it for about 20 kms taking the dirt road (Wangat Rd.) on the right. Follow the main dirt road for 5 km and then take the second (the first turn, Skimmings Gap Rd., should have a picnic area) dirt road (Middle Rd.) on the right. A further 5 kms on (past the Telegherry Forest Park picnic area, and across the concrete ford) take the dirt road (Frying Pan Creek Rd.) to the right, some 3 km on is the rally site.
