A Poem For Patsy
A Lady Named Patsy Cline
She was born in a place called Winchester, Virginia
...Just your average small town girl,
With dreams of Nashville, Tennessee ...
... Dreams that would capture the world.
She sang like an angel. Strong and sublime,
A Lady, named Patsy Cline.
As her career moved upward
Her songs climbed the charts.
She made it to the Grand OLE Opry
And into the nations heart.
Many said she was ahead of her time,
A Lady, named Patsy Cline.
Her string of hits was sensational,
With no end in sight!
" I Fall To Pieces"
And "Walking After Midnight."
But then a plane crashed, would leave a dent in time
And kill a lady, named Patsy Cline.
It's been over thirty years
Since Patsy went away.
But her record sales still number in millions
And grow higher every day.
Indeed a legend that will span space and time,
One powerful lady, named Patsy Cline!
Sweet Dreams
Sweet dreams of you
Every night I go through
Why can't I forget you and start my life anew
Instead of having sweet dreams about you
You don't love me, it's plain
I should know I'll never wear your ring
I should hate you the whole night through
Instead of having sweet dreams about you
Sweet dreams of you
Things I know can't come true
Why can't I forget the past, start loving someone new
Instead of having sweet dreams about you
