Aart (Arthur) Van Buren Sr. was born September 08, 1893 in Alto Township, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, and died Abt. March 1973.  He married Johanna Wilhelmina (Jennie) Duitman September 29, 1915 in Alto Township, Alto, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.  She was born May 12, 1891 in Wisconsin, and died February 13, 1968 in Waupun Memorial Hospital, Waupun, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Arthur Van Buren Sr., 79, 509 W. Main St., who served as a deputy sheriff in Dodge County for 12 years, died Saturday afternoon of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Sept. 8, 1893, in the Town of Alto, a son of Albert and Alice Westhuis Van Buren. He married Jennie Duitman at Alto Sept. 29, 1915.
After the marriage the couple farmed in the Towns of Alto and Trenton, except for five years early in the marriage when Mr. Van Buren was employed by the Shaler Company. He retired in 1946 at which time they moved to Waupun.
He was a member of First Reformed Church, Waupun.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Jr., Route 1, Fox Lake; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Cornelius Bronkhorst, Waupun, and Mrs. Barney Vande Berg, Brandon.
His wife preceded him in death Feb. 13, 1968, and also a daughter, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kohls Company Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Boss officiated. Burial followed in Alto cemetery.
