Alfdred E. Pobanz, 89, 255 South State Street, Waupun, died at noon Thursday, Oct. 25, 1979, at Waupun Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born March 2, 1890, at Waupun, the son of the late August and Margaret Helmer Pobanz. He attended Waupun Schools, and on Sept. 20, 1916, he was married to Laura Bence at Waupun. Mr. Pobanz was employed by Teeple and Hth James Shoe Companies for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Waupun. Survivors include a son, Alvin, Waupun; a daughter, Lona Pobanz, Waupun; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers and a sister. Funeral serives were held at 1:30 p.m. saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waupun, Pastor Randall Metz officiated. Burial was in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Vistations for Mr. Pobanz was held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun.

     Waupun, Wis. - Mrs. Alfred Pobanz, 18 West Brown St., passed away this morning, Thursday, June 20, at the Waupun Memorial Hospital following a heart attack suffered on Wednesday.
     Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, at 2:00 p.m. from the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. K. Herbener will officiate at the service and interment will be at Forest Mound Cemetery.
     The deceased was born June 18, 1890 at Menomonee Falls, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bence. She was married to Alfred Pobanz April 20, 1916.
     Survivors are: her husband; one son, Alvin of Waupun; two grandchildren; one brother, William of Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Hadfield of Waupun, Mrs. Jennie Murphy of Waupun and Mrs. Peter Cournia of Milwaukee.
     Preceding in death were her parents and two brothers.
     She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid Association and the American Legion Auxillary.
     Friends may call at the Beyers funeral home after 7:00 o'clock this evening until Saturday noon and after that hour at the church until time of the service.

Mrs. Alfred Pobanz Suffered Fatel Heart Attack: Services Held
Funeral services were held Saturday June 22, in the Immanuel Lutheran church for Mrs. Alfred Pobanz, who died Thursday morning in the Waupun Memorial hospital, following heart attacks suffered on June 19 and 20.
Mrs. Pobanz the former Lora Bence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bence was born June 18, 1890 at Menomonee Falls.
She and Mr. Pobanz who were married on April 20, 1916, made their home at 18 West Brown street. She is survived by her husband, one son, Alvin; two grandchildren; one brother, William Bence of Milwaukee, and three sisters, Mrs. Roger Hadfield and Mrs. Jennie Murphy of Waupun and Mrs. Peter Gournia of Milwaukee. Two brothers preceded her in death.
The body was in state at Beyers Funeral home until Saturday noon, when it was moved to the Immanuel Lutheran church, were services were held at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. K.J. Hernener. Burial was in Forest Mound cemetery.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church its Ladies Aid society and the American Legion auxiliary.
Pallbearers were Martin Boovers, Ira Brown, Ralph Harmsen, Tom Vande Zande, August Witt and Herbert Schulz.
