Alfred J. Loomans, 79, of N3461 Highway 49, Waupun, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Funeral sevices were held Thursday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church. Rev. Ken Petty officiated. Interment followed at Alto Cemetery, Alto.
He was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Alto, the son of Anthony and Jennie (Van Buren) Loomans. He married Gladys Vander Bosch July 19, 1939, in Alto.
Mr. Loomans was a lifelong resident of Alto area. He was a member of Alto Reformed church, where he served as deacon, elder, Mens Chorus and was a member of the Golden Lifers Group.
Mr. Loomans formerly owned and operated a local dairy farm and was a former member of Alto Town Board and the Farmers Elevator board.
He was a graduate of Brandon High School, class of 1935.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys; five sons, Arlyn (Sherry) Loomans of Rhinelander, Eugene (Connie) Loomans of Madison, Byron (Cindy) Loomans of Mequon, Glen (Sharon) Loomans of Alto, Mark Loomans of Alto; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Marie Kloostra of Waupun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends were able to call at Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, Wednesday, May 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church, Thursday, May 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
