The Leader News, Oct. 7, 1974; Funeral services were held Monday, Sept, 30, at 2 p.m. First Reformed church for Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Van Buren Jr., Rt. 1, Fox Lake, town of Trenton, Dodge County. The Rev. Donald Bos officiated. Burial was in Forest Mound Cemetery. Mrs. Van Buren died Friday, Sept 27, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, at the age of 47. She was born May 15,1927, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Herman and Tena Harmsen Beekman. She was married to Arthur Van Buren Jr. in the town of Waupun, and after their marriage the couple farmed in the town of Trenton, Dodge Couny, all their married life. She was a member of Frst Reformed Church in Waupun.1 Having been preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Mrs. Van Buren leaves to survive her widower; five children, Wilbur, Rt. 1, Waupun; Allen, Waupun; and Delores, Louise, and Calvin, all at home; two grandchildren; two brothers Robert Beekman, Rt. 2, Waupun; and Elmer Beekman, Rt. 2, Brandon; and one sister, Mrs. Jacob Van Ruiswyk, Rt. 3, Waupun. Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 29, from 3 to 9 p.m. in Kohls Company Funeral Home. |

WAUPUN - Gladys (Yunto) Van Buren, 75, of Waupun, died peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2002, at her home with her family at her side. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 10 a.m., at the First Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Mound Cemetery. Mrs. Van Buren was born on May 3, 1927, in Packwaukee, the daughter of James and Julia (Cleveland) Webster. She was married on Dec. 4, 1943, to Lester Yunto in Waupun. She was later married to Arthur A. Van Buren. Mrs. Van Buren was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, stepmother, step-grandmother and step-great-grandmother. She will be fondly remembered for her pie baking. You could find her pie creations at the Well Kum Inn, Tom Dooley Orchard and the Deluxe Bakery, all of Waupun. She was very involved in farming with her husband and was formerly employed at Sand-Knit, Waupun. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun, enjoyed baking, crocheting, dancing and going for rides to view God's beautiful creation. Survivors include her husband, Arthur A. Van Buren, Waupun; four daughters, Judith (Glenn) Killam, Fairwater, Sharon (Elton) Posthuma, Donna (Lee) Nummerdor, and Gladys (Daniel) Montsma, all of Waupun; one son, Jerold (Beverly) Yunto, Watertown; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Arlene Yunto, Mayville, five stepchildren, Wilbur (Elayne) Van Buren, Allen (Noreen) Van Buren, Fox Lake, Delores (Allan) Ellcey, Juneau, Louise (Michael) Sawyer, and Calvin (Julia) Van Buren, both of Burnett; 12 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Yunto, on April 19, 1977; one son, Henry Yunto Sr., in 2001; one granddaughter, Lori Killam, in 1986; one grandson, Brian Nummerdor, in 1974; her parents; and brothers and sisters. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Thursday, May 23, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the First Reformed Church, Waupun. A memorial is being established. |
