WAUPUN - Charles S. "Buzz" Landaal, 68, of Waupun, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2005, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee, after a hard fought and courageous battle due to set backs and complications of his treatments.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m., at Waupun United Methodist Church, Waupun. The Rev. Bill Jannusch will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Friends may call on Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Tuesday, April 26, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., the time of service at Waupun United Methodist Church, Waupun.
Buzz was born on Aug. 18, 1936, in Waupun, the son of Charles D. and Dena (Heideman) Landaal. He attended Waupun schools, graduating from Waupun High School in 1954. He began his family in 1954 with his marriage to Verda Deaver. While married to Verda, they had four children, Chuck, Kurt, Gregg and Beth. In 1976, he married Barbara Van Buren and with this union they had three sons, Luke, Matt and Joe, which completed Buzz's family. He had driven truck for Bird Trucking and Jeff's Trucking and then became self-employed as a carpenter and mason for many years. Buzz loved hunting, fishing and spending time at the cottage with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Landaal, Waupun; his beloved children, Charles P. "Chuck" (fiancee Crystal Koltz) Landaal, Waupun, Gregg (Linda) Landaal, Beaver Dam; Beth (husband Jim Jensen Jr) Landaal, Waupun, Luke (girl friend Michelle Burton) Landaal, Cambria, Matt Landaal, Waupun, and Joe "Woody" Landaal, Waupun; three grandchildren, Nate Landaal, Jenny Landaal, and Bailey Jensen; one daughter-in-law, Susan Landaal, Waupun; one brother, David (Marlene) Landaal, Waupun; one sister, Wilma Jean "Jim" (Alvin) Dill, San Diego, Calif.; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kurt, on April 26, 2000; his parents, and one infant grandson, Aaron.
The Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home and staff, Waupun, is serving the family.
