The Neighbors-Saturday-May 30, 1998; Roy L. Ter Beest, 77, of 1104 Rock Ave., Waupun, died Tuesday, May 26, at the Christian Home, Waupun. The funeral was Thursday, May 28, at the Alto Reformed Church, Alto, Wis. The Rev. David Klanderman officiated. Burial was in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Mr. Ter Beest was born May 23, 1921, in the town of Alto, Wis., son of Cornelius and Minnie (Schouten) Ter Beest. He was married to Bertha Vant Hoff. He farmed in the town of Alto, Wis., all of his married life until retiring in 1990, when he moved to Waupun. He was a member of the Alto Reformed Church, the Men's Brotherlands and the men's chorus. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Ter Beest of Waupun; three sons, Jerald (Dianna) Ter Beest of Markesan, Culver (Linda) Ter Beest of Rhinelander, Wis., and Robert (Densie) Ter Beest of Rhinelander, Wis.; two daughters, Carol (Alton) Flegner and Beth (David) Benard, both of Brandon, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Calvin (Donna) Ter Beest of Waupun; one sister, Marie Kastein of Brandon, Wis.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Ter Beest; and one brother-in-law. Friends called on Wednesday, May 27, at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Thursday, May 28, at the church.
