Randolph Advance Newpaper-Dec. 17, 1931: Chas Wichmann, Sr., died very suddenly Wednesday morning, Dec. 16, 1931, at about 10:30 while transacting business in the lobby of the Randolph State Bank. He was standing at the customer's desk endorsing several checks when he fell over backward.Restorative methods were used without effect and he was dead upon arrival of Dr. A.W. Jones who pronounced the death due to heart failure. Mr. Wichmann had not been in the best of health for several months but felt able Wednesday to walk to town. It was with some diffculty that he progressed as far as the Milwaukee Road deport and he stopped there to rest. E.J. Kunz, depot agent, offered to take him by auto either to his home or to the bank whereu on Mr. Wichmann chose to go the bank to attend to his business. Deceased had lived in this community many years. He formely lived on a farm in the Town of Westford, now occupied by his son Fred, since retiring has lived on Center Street in this village. Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran Friedens Church on Friday afternoon at Two o'clock a complete obituary will be published in the next week's issue of the Randolp Advance. Randolph Advance, Dec. 24, 1931; Chas Wichamnn was born in Steinhausen, Mechlenberg, Germany, on Feb 27, 1852 and passed away very suddenly on Dec. 16, 1931, at the age 79 years, 9 months and 19 days. He came to this county at the age of Twenty-Two years settled in the Town of Westford. On Jan. 25, 1878, he was united in marriage to Mary Pobanz and they lived on a farm about two miles southest of Randolph for a many years, moving to Randolph in the spring of 1918. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wichamnn, all of whom living with the execption of one daughter, Marie, who died in infancy. The surviving children are: Will Wichamnn, Chas Wichamnn, Jr., Mrs. Emil Wichner and Fred Wichmann of Randolph; Mrs. Anna Wichner of Waupun; Otto Wichamnn of Randolph; Mrs. Elmer Leistekaw of Beaver Dam R.F.D. and Rudolph Wichamnn of Santa Monica, Calif. There are also twenty-two grandchildren. Mr. Wichmann has one brother, John living in Germany. |

Randolph Advance June 7, 1928; Mrs. Chas. Wichamnn, for many years a resident of the vicinity, passed away Saturday, June 2, 1928 at her home on Center Street. She had been ailing for several years, and a few months ago dropsy developed causing her death. Mrs. Wichmann, nee Pobanz was the daughter of Julius and Wilhelmina Pobanz and was born on August 29, 1860 in Hasenfier, Pommerania, Germany. She came to America with her parents when twelve years of ago. On Januray 25, 1878 she was united in marriage to Mr. Chas. Wichamnn and last January they celebrated their goldren wedding anniversary. She has reached the age of 67 years and 9 months. She is survived by her husband and eight children, William , Carl, Fred and Otto Wichamnn and Mrs. Emil Wichner of Randolph, Mrs. William Wichner of Waupun; Mrs. Elmer Leistikaw, Beaver Dam and Rudolph Wichamnn of Santa Monica, Calif; also eighteen grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers also survive, Mrs. Minnie Bork of Waupun, Mrs. John Schmidt of Louisville,Colorado, Mrs. Louis Baumann, Chas and Wm. Pobanz of Randolph, Besides a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Geiger Tuesday afternoon at the Frieden's Lutheran Church. Obit-Fox Lake-Funeral services for Charles Wichamnn, who passed away at Juneau Friday morning, were held this afternoon at Two o'clock from the Krazt Funeral Home in this village, with interment being made in Hall Cemetery in the Town of Westford. Rev. Briedling of the Randolph Lutheran Church officated. The deseased was born Aug. 14, 1880, a son of Carl and Marie (Pobanz) Wichamnn. Survivors are three sisters and three brothers; Mrs. Emil Wickner of West Allis; Mrs. Robert Nienow of Waupun, Mrs. Elmer Leistkow, RFD, Beaver Dam, Fred Wichamnn, RFD, Randolph, Otto Wichamnn of Randolph and Rudolph Wichamnn of Santa Monica, Calif. |
