Waupun - Clarence H. Hopp, 83, 3 chapman Place, Waupun, died Saturday, Jan. 8, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m., at the First Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will be at the Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Mr. Hopp was born on Mar. 17, 1916 in Alto, the son of Henry and Jane Van Loo Hopp. He was married to Marie Smits on Sept. 14, 1939 in Alto. The couple has lived in the Waupun area all their married life. He was a machinist at National Rivet Co., of Waupun where he served as president of Local 1516 International Accs. of Machinists. He retired in 1982. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed raising flowers. He was a lifelong member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun. Survivors include his wife, Marie; three daughters, Marilyn (James) Haverkate, Sebring, Fla., Carolyn Hopp, Eau Clarie, and Diane Hopp, special friend Mark Benedict, Madison; two sons, Harlan (Judy) Hopp, Oakfield and Milford (Pat) Hopp, Waupun; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Garret Hopp, Delmar Hopp, Edward Hopp and one sister, Henrietta Navis. Friends may call on Monday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun and Tuesday, from 10 a.m. at First Reformed Church to the hour of service. |
