Mr. Clarence L. Peters, 71, 613 Cochrane Street, Waupun, died Mon., September 1, 1986 in Park Falls, Wisconsin.
Mr. Peters was born Dec. 25, 1914 in Waupun, the son of the late Lambert and Tena Ruesink Peters. He married Marion Luck on June 7, 1941 in Waupun. The couple have lived in Waupun all their life where Mr. Peters was Director and Past President of Peters Oil Company of Waupun. He served with the U.S. Navy in WW II. He was a member of 1st Reformed Church in Waupun and also a member of oil jobbers of Wisconsin, past president of Upper Michigan and Wisconsin Coal Dealers Association, member of Waupun VFW, charter member and past president of Waupun Industrial Development Association, member and past president of Waupun Rotary Club, past president of Rock River County Club and a diector of the 1st Interstate Bank of Waupun.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; two sons, Robert of Neenah and Donald of Waupun; one step-son Edward Luck of Waupun; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Marie) Landaal of Racine, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Peters were held Wednesday at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Irven Jungling officiated. Burial followed at Forest Mound Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name for the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Peters was born Sept. 17, 1908, in Waupun, the daughter of the late Albert & Meta (Krebs) Luck. On June 7, 1941, she married Clarence L. Peters in Waupun. The couple resided in Waupun all their life where they owned and operated Peters Coal and Oil Company for many years. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Waupun and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Luck, Waupun, Robert Peters, Neenah, and Donald Peters, Waupun; six grandchildren; one sister, Cecelia Verhulst, Waupun.
She was preceded in death by her husband in Septrmber 1986, and four brothers.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, with the Rev. Irven Jungling officiating. Private burial was held at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. time of service.
