Cornelis Jake (Charles Jacob) Vant Hoff was born December 28, 1910 in Trenton Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin, and died January 03, 1989 in Rolling Meadows Nursing, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.  He married Frances Elaine Boom September 20, 1937 in Alto Township, Alto, Fond du Lac County.  She was born February 15, 1914 in Alto Township, Alto, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, and died September 05, 1970 in Waupun, Dodge County, Wisconsin. The Leader News-January 10 & 11, 1989: Charles J. Vant Hoff, 78, 225 West St., Waupun, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1989, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Fond du Lac, Wis. Mr. Vant Hoff was born on Dec. 28, 1910, in the Town of Trenton, the son of Albert and Della (Vanden Berg) Vant Hoff. He was married to Frances Boom on Sept. 20, 1937, in Alto. He attended Excelsior school in the town of Trenton and farmed in the town of Alto prior to moving to Waupun. He was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1970, two brothers and one step-brother. Survivors include one son, Arlyn (Shirley) Vant Hoff, Waupun; one daughter, Linda (Kenneth)  Smit, Brandon; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Meenk, Waupun; three brothers, Alvin (Sally) Vant Hoff and Marvin (Eileen) Vant Hoff, Waupun, Clayton (Wilma) Vant Hoff, Wellington Del.; two sister-in-law, Cora Vant Hoff and Lydia Asmus, Waupun. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday from Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun with the Rev. Robert Hekhuis officiating. Burial was in the Alto Cemetery, Alto. Visitation was held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m., at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
