The Waupun Leader News-Feb. 2, 1976; Delmar Hopp, 63, 694 Rock River Drive, died unexpectedly in his home early Sunday, Feb. 1. He was born Sept. 10, 1912, in Alto, a son of Henry and Jane Van Loo Hopp. He was married to the former Elizabeth Aalsma in the mid-1930's and they lived in the Waupun area. Mr. Hopp was manager of the Markesan Hemp mills until 1956 when he founded Hopp Construction Co., which he owned and operated until his death. His wife preceded him in Nov. 1966. In February of 1968, Mr. Hopp was married to former Lola Van Loo. He was a member of First Reformed Church and served on its consistory. He was a member of the Men's Sunday Class as well as the Gideons. Survivors include his widow; one son, Franklin Hopp, Waupun; one daughter, Mrs. James Searvogel, Waupun; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Harold Hartgerink, Waupun; five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; two brother, Gerrit Hopp, Alto, and Clarence Hopp, Waupun; and one sister, Mrs. Charles Navis, Brandon. He was also preceded in death by one son and daughter and one brother. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at First Reformed Church. The Rev. Donald Boss officiate. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends may call at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home Monday evening, Feb. 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. and at the church from 12 noon until the time of services. A memorial has been established inhisname for First Reformed Church. |

Mrs. Delmar Hopp, 51, a resident of 539 East Main, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, in Waupun Memorial hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hopp was born Oct. 29, 1915, in Waupun. She was the daughter of Frank and Lucy Tammanga Aalsma. She was married to Delmar Hopp Jan. 18, 1936, in Waupun. She was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church and the Martha Guild. Preceding her in death were one son, one daughter, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her widower and parents, Waupun; one son, Franklin Hopp, Waupun; one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Searvogel, Waupun; two brothers, Andrew, Rt. 2, Brandon: John, Fargo, N.D.; five sisters, Mrs. Claus Holtein, Waupun; Mrs. John Heideman, Rt. 2, Waupun; Mrs. Edwin Herrman, Milwaukee; Mrs. Andy Ter Beest, Rt. 2, Brandon; and Mrs. Howard TeBeest, Rt. 1, Waupun. Her body lay in state in Berers funeral home from Friday afternoon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 when it was taking to Emmanuel Reformed church for funeral rites which were conducted by the Rev. George Chermak. Interment was in the Alto cemetery. Pallbearers were Willis Heideman, Arnold Holstein, Richard Aalsma, Milton Navis, Howard Hopp and Arthur Hopp. |

Lola Mae Hopp, 87, Beaver Dam Care Center, formerly of Waupun, died Monday, July 10, 1995, at the Beaver Dam Care Center. The funeral will be Wednesday, July 12, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reormed Church, Waupun. Rev. Donald Boss will be officiating. Visitation was held at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, Waupun on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 12:30 till the hour of service. Interment will be at the Highland Memory Garden, town of Trenton. Hopp was born December 18, 1907, in Lila, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ed and Maryetta Beeman Baggett. She married Ray E. Van Loo, Sept. 9, 1930 in Atwater, WI, and Delmar Hopp on Feb. 8, 1968 in Waupun. Hopp was a homemaker. Member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun. Member of the Women's Guild, and the Altruist Sunday School Class. Member of Gideons International Auxillary. She had been responesible for flower arrangement in the church for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three sisters; and one brother. Survivors include, one daughter, Mary (Harold) Hartgerink, Waupun; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elsa Lassman, Kansas; Cleo (Fritz) Brinkman, Calif; Dorothy Leberak, Waupun; and Wilma Vis, Waupun; one brother, Rolland (Doris) Baggett, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. |

Herbert Hopp, 3, Died Wednesday in Hospital Herbert Hopp, three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Hopp of near Alto, died at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Agnes hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hinkamp and Kohls funeral home. The Rev. J. H. Kregel will officiate. Pallbearers will be Peter Taminga, John Taminga, Joe Alsma and Geral Mulder. Burail will be in the Alto cemetery. Herbert was born June 6, 1936, in Alto. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Hopp; one brother, six weeks old; and by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Alsma of Waupun and Mrs. Henry Hopp of Alto. |
