Donald J. Vande Zande, 64, of 196 N. West St., Waupun, died Friday, Nov. 3, 1989 at University Hospital, Madison.
Mr. Vande Zande was born July 29, 1925, in the Twon of Alto, a son of Albert C. and Minnie (Vant Hoff) Vande Zande. On July 11, 1951, he married Helen TerBeest in Alto.
Mr. Vande Zande and his wife farmed in the Waupun area until 1980 when they moved to Waupun. He became a full-time saleman for Fuller Brush Company. He was a member of the First Reformed Church where he was active in the men's chorus and held the offices of elder and deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Dennis, Darrell and Dean, all of Waupun; two daughters, Lori Smith and her husband Richard of Waupun, and Marcia Paul and her husband Mark of Beaver Dam; five grandchildren.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the First Reformed Church, the Rev. Irven Jungling officiating. Burial followed at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Visitation was held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun and on Monday from 1 p.m. to the hour of service at the church.
