Doris E. Harmsen, 63, a resident of the Christain Home in Waupun, died Monday evening, May 11, 1992, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Harmsen was born Feb. 15, 1929, the daughter of Gerrit and Hannah (Vande Zande) Van Buren. She married Allen Harmsen Feb. 20, 1953, in Waupun. The couple farmed in the Waupun area until 1987 when they moved to the city of Waupun. She was an operator for the Wisconsin Bell Telephone for 27 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Cjurch in Waupun.
Survivors include her husband Allan, Waupun; one son, Mark (Pat) Harmsen, Waupun; two grandsons, one sister, Mabel Van Buren, Waupun; and one brother, Glen (Aggie) Van Buren, Waupun.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 14, at Werner-Harmsen Funeral in Waupun, with the Rev. Clarence Bauer officiating. Burail followed at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton. Visitation was held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m.
WAUPUN -Allan R. Harmsen, 65, of Waupun, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996 at UW Hospital, Madison, Wis.
The funeral was Friday, Jan. 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waupun. The Rev. Randall Metz officiated. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton.
Mr. Harmsen was bom May 31,1931 in the town of Waupun, son of Ralph and Geneva (Strieff) Harmsen. He was married to Doris Van Buren on Feb. 20,1953 in Waupun.
He and his wife farmed in the Waupun area until 1987 at which time they moved to the city of Waupun.
He was employed at Northern Hatcheries, Beaver Dam, and was a member of the Atwater Conservation
Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waupun.
Survivors include one son. Mark (Patricia) Harmsen of Waupun; two grandsons, Nikolaus and Christopher Harmsen both of Waupun; three brothers, Ralph Harmsen Jr., Jerry (Shirley) Harmsen, Ronald (Linda) Harmsen, all of Waupun; two sisters, Joyce Friese of Waupun, Ruth (MerIin)Pieper of Hustisford; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, in 1992, and his parents. Friends called on Thursday, Jan. 2, at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and or Friday, Jan. 3, at the church.
