Funeral services for Marvin Russell Meenk, 66, of 804 W. Jefferson St., Waupun, were held Saturday at Emmanuel Reformed Church. The Rev. Elton Van Pernis officiated. Burial was in Alto Cemetery.
Friends called Friday at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun, and Saturday at the church.
Mr. Meenk died Wednesday, Feb. 20 at home.
He was born July 24, 1918, in the Town of Alto, the son of Albert and Jennie Bruins Meenk. He was married to Dorothy Vant Hoff on Oct. 14, 1941 in Milwaukee.
He attended schools in Waupun area and was a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was a partner in Meenk Brothers Electric in Waupun from 1946 to 1973. He then owned and operated Meenk Techo in Waupun. He was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church where he served as an elder. He was a former Sunday school supereindent and catechism and Sunday school teacher. He was also a former choir member there.
He was supervisor of District 31 of Dodge County and a board member of the Waupun Christian Home. He was a trustee of Dodge County Community Health Center and the Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau. He served in the U.S. Army in 1941 and was a member of the Waupun Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Kurtis of Brookfield; one daughter, Mrs. Harlen (Betty) Vande Slunt of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren; one brother, Roy of Waupun; and one sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Marjorie) Bresser of Waupun.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
