BRANDON, Wis. - Earl H. Van Buren, 58, of Brandon, Wis., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997 of a massive heart attack. The funeral was Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Alto Reformed Church, Alto, Wis. The Rev. David Klanderman officiated. Burial will be in Alto Cemetery, Alto, Wis. Mr. Van Buren was born Dec. 27, 1938 in Brandon, Wis., son of Elmer and Harriet (Veleker) Van Buren. He was married to Joyce Tamminga on June 28, 1960 at the First Reformed Church, Friesland. He graduated from Brandon High School, resided in Brandon most of his life, and was co-owner of TV Building and Supply in Brandon for 25 years. For the past 12 years, he was employed by Schaeffer Oil Company as a sales representaive. He was a member of the Alto Reformed Church, Alto, Wis., where he was vice president of the consistory serving as an elder, past deacon and past youth director, was a also a past member of the Brandon Lions Club and was past fire chief of the Brandon Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; one son, Steve Van Buren of Brandon, Wis., two daughters, Marcia Van Buren of Brandon, Wis., Sarah Van Buren at home; one brother, Paul (Fay) Van Buren of Longmont, Colo.; four sisters, Rachel (Wes) Navis of Waupun, Agnes (Ron) Wells of Elm Grove, Wis., Nelda (Kurt) Schreiber of Nashville, Tenn., Donna (Jim) Schmuhl of Brandon, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister. Friends called on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the church. Memorials may be directed to various youth ministries. |
