Funeral Services for Mrs. E. J. Gerritsen Were Held Saturday Mrs. Evert John Gerritsen, the former Anna Van Buren, died Thursday morning in the Waupun Memorial hospital where she had been a patient since breaking her hip in a fall two weeks before. She was born Oct. 10, 1876 in the Town of Waupun. Her marriage to Mr. Gerritsen, who survives occurred Nov. 15, 1897. They resided in the town of Waupun on a farm during all of their married life. She was a member of the First Reformed church. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Merle Idhe, and Mrs. James Luck, Waupun; one son, Henry, of the town of Waupun, a sister, Mrs. Henry Hopp, and two brothers, Evert of Alto and Gerrit of this city; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Beyers Funeral home. The Rev. William Rosenberg officiated at services and burial in the Alto cemetery. Vocal selections were sung by Myron Kastein and Roland Buteyn, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Rens. |

E.J. Gerritsen, 92, Died Friday Morning; Hold Services Monday Funeral services for Evert John Gerritsen, 92, , were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Beyers Funeral home. The Rev. William Rosenberg officiated and burial was in Forest Mound cemetery. Mr. Gerritsen died at 11 a.m. Friday in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Ihde, 4 Wilcox court. He had resided with the Ihdes for the past two years. He was born July 25, 1868, in the Netherlands, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry John Gerritsen. He came to this country in his youth and on Nov. 15, 1897, was married to Anna Van Buren. Mr. and Mrs. Gerritsen farmed in the Town of Waupun for many years. Mrs. Gerritsen died Feb. 5, 1959. He was a member of the First Reformed church of Waupun. He is survived by one son, Henry, of the town of Waupun; two daughters; Mrs. Jennie Luck and Mrs. Ihde, both of Waupun; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Frank Trowbridge, A. D. Trowbridge, Theodore Helgeson, Norman Evenson, Clyde Zoellner, and Archie Helgeson. |

WAUPUN - Marie Ihde, 92, of Waupun, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at the Christian Home, Waupun. The funeral was Wednesday, March 31, at the Union Congregational Church, Waupun. The Rev. Michael Bausch officiated. Burial was in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Mrs. Ihde was born June 9, 1906, daughter of Evert and Edna (Van Buren) Gerritsen. She was married to Merle Ihde on June 29, 1929, in Waupun. She resided in Waupun with her husband all of her married life, and was an active member of the Union Congregational Church, Waupun, where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Marge Bauer of Arizona; nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Earl Irish family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle in 1963; her parents; one brother; and one sister. Friends called on Wednesday, March 31, at the church. The Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, served the family. |
