Mrs. Vande Zande Dies at Home in Alto Mrs. Evelyn Van Veen Vande Zande, aged 19, died at her home three miles from Alto Saturday night or early Sunday morning. She was found dead in her bed by her husband, Edward Vande Zande, before five o'clock Sunday morning. She had been ill for the past eight weeks. The deceased who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Van Veen, was born in the town of Trenton. She is survived by her husband, an eight-weeks-old son, one sister, Jeannette Van Veen, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Van Veen. Funeral services were held from the home at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon, and at two o'clock from the Reformed church at Alto, the Rev. Schroeder and the Rev. Kregel officiating. Burial took place at the Alto cemetery. The pallbearers were Harley Vande Zande, Harry Redeker, Elmer Vande Berg, Lester Damsteegt, W.F. Van Veen, and Louis Mulder. |

Edward Vande Zande, 73, 619 Park St., Waupun, died Saturday evening, Dec. 1, 1979. He was born June 18, 1906, in the town of Alto, a son of Edward and Cynthia Vande Berg Vande Zande. On Nov. 29, 1937, he was married to Emma Dykman in Waupun. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Waupun all of their married life. Mr. Vande Zande was employed by Home Contractors in Waupun, as a lumber yard foreman until his retirement in 1976. Mr. Vande Zande was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun where he was vice president of the Consistory. He was also active in the church choir and the Men's Chorus. Mr. Vande Zande was a member of the Senior Citizens of Waupun. He is survived by his widow; one son, Elton, Hudson, Mich.; one brother, A.C. Vande Zande, Waupun; three sisters, Mrs. Andy (Alice) Lemmenes and Mrs. Henry (Christina) Vermeer, both of Waupun; and Mrs. Henry (Annice) Homan, Fox Lake; three grandsons and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one sister. Funeral services for Mr. Vande Zande were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at First Reformed Church. The Rev. Donald Boss officiated. Burial followed at Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Visitation was held at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from noon until time of services. |
