George E. Posthuma, a well-known stock buyer and fieldman for an area canning factory, pssed away at the Lutheran Hospital, Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, following a heart attack. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2:00 p.m. at Frieden Evangelical Lutheran Church, Randolph with Rev. Albert Winter, officiating. Burial will be in the Randolph cemetery. The late Mr. Posthuma was born July 6, 1906 in the Township of Scott, Columbia County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Posthuma. He was married to the former Marie Seeman on Nov. 27, 1935. Suriving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Callies, Beaver Dam; two grandchildren; three brothers, John, August, and Eli, all of Randolph; one sister, Mrs. John (Jennie) Kikkert, RFD, Beaver Dam. Preceding in death were his parents and two brothers, Henry and Sjouke. Friends may call at the Schmidt Funeral Home, Randolph, after 3:00 p.m. Friday, and after 12 noon on Saturday at the church until the hour of services at 2 p.m. | ||||||||||||||

Randolph Advance-Jan. 11, 1968; Funeral services for Mrs. Marie A. Posthuma, a longtime resident of rural Randolph, were held Wednesday At Frieden's Evangelical Lutheran Chruch. Burial was in Randolph cemetery. Mrs. Posthuma died suddenly Jan 7, at her home at the age of 58. She was born July 11, 1909, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Seeman. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Callies, of Beaver Dam; 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Herbert Wienke of Baraboo and Mrs. John Schenk of Cambria; a brother, Reinheld Seeman of Rio, 3 half-brothers, William Hoffman of Plainfield, Gust Seeman of Poynette., and Bert Seeman of Britton, S.D.; and a halfsister, Mrs. Carl Vogel of Beaver Dam. |
