Gerrit Lambert Peters was born March 31, 1877 in Apeldoorn, Gelderland, Netherlands, and died March 13, 1976 in Hollister, Twin Falls County, Idaho.  He married Johanna (Anna) W. Klumpers December 11, 1901 in Alto, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.  She was born November 25, 1878 in Alto, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, and died September 18, 1964 in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Jane't Peters, born January 08, 1906 in Waupun , Wisconsin; died May 31, 1986 in Twin Falls, Idaho.  She married Richard Clarence Carter PRIVATE; born PRIVATE.

 
Margaret Harriet Peters, born April 28, 1908 in Waupun,  Wisconsin; died April 25, 1995 in Twin Falls, Idaho.  She married Stanley Hubert Strickling October 02, 1929 in Amsterdam, Idaho; born March 11, 1907; died May 22, 1991.

Gerrit L. Peters. 99, Twin Falls, Idaho, died Friday, Aug. 13. He was born March 31, 1877, in Holland. He was married to Johannah Klumpers Dec. 11 1901, in Alto. Wis. The couple went to Idaho in 1910. He was one of the earliest settlers on the Salmon Tract when the new land was opened. In 1912, he became the first postmaster of Amsterdam on the tract, being recommended by U.S. Rep. Addison T. Smith of Idaho.
Even though he was not a citizen at that time,
he raised the first flag over the little desert community post office.
He operated a small store there and later farmed.
Mrs. Peters died Sept. 18,1964, in Twin Falls.
Survivors include one son, Leonard Peters, Twin Falls; two daughters, Janet Carter, Twin Falls, and
Margaret Strickling, Buhl; 9 grandchildren,
15 great grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Waupun relatives are Mrs. Hazel Dalton and Clarence Peters.
Funeral services were held Aug. 17 in White Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls.
