The Waupun Leader News-Feb. 15, 1945; Gerrit Peters, 81, died in his home in the town of Alto Saturday at 5:15 p.m., following a long illness. Mr. Peters was born on July 13, 1863, in the Netherlands. After coming to the United States he lived in the vicinity of Waupun and Alto for remanider of his life. He was married to Effie DeBruin in 1885, who died in 1895, and in 1897 he was married to Miss Henrietta Boom, who died in 1920. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold Allan of Waupun; five sons, John G., Joe, Harold and Edward Peters of Waupun, and Charles at home; three brothers, Allen Peters of Brandon, Guy Peters of California, and Cornelius Peters of Portland, Ore.; 15 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Beyers Funeral home. The Rev. L. L. Duerson officiated at the services and burial was in the Cattaragus cemetery. |

Called by Death On Sunday evening, April 25th, at her home north of this city on the Fond du Lac road, occurred the death of Mrs. Garret Peters. Mrs. Peters had been in poor health for some time. Henrietta Boom was born Januray 27th 1868, in Alto and resided there until her marraige to Garret Peters twenty-four years ago. Since that time the family have resided on the farm which they now occupy. Mrs. Peters was highly esteemed among a wide circle of friends throughout the county. She is survived by her husband and three sons, Charles, Harold and Edward, all at home; two step-sons and a step-daughter, John and Joe Peters of Waupun, and Mrs. Harold Allen of Chester; two sisters, Mrs. Gerret Rexwinkle of Waupun and Miss Hattie Boom of Brandon; two brothers, Gerret Boom of Waupun and Chris Boom of Brandon; two half-brothers, Anthony and Henry Boom of Alto; and a half-sister, Mrs. henry Prange of Alto. The funeral was held from the home at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Wm. Walvvord of the Reformed church officiated and interment was in Cattaraugus cemetery. |

Charles Peters Dies in Sleep: Funeral Services Held Monday Afternoon Charles Peters, 50, died in his sleep early Saturday morning, in his home in the township of Alto, where he was living alone. His body was found by a neighbor Saturday noon, after he failed to come for milk, as was his custom. Death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Peters was born April 8, 1898, in the town of Alto, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Peters. He has lived alone following the death of his father about two years ago. Survivors include two brothers, Harold and Edward, one half-sister, Mrs. Harold Allan, and two half-brothers, John and Joseph Peters, all of Waupun. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Beyers Funeral home, with the Rev. L. L. Duerson officiating at the services. Burial was made in Cattaraugus cemetery. |

Harold Peters, 86, a resident of Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau died Saturday morning, May 3 at the nursing home. He was born September 2, 1899 in the Town of Waupun, the son of Gerrit and Henrietta Boom Peters. On October 31, 1947 he married Dorothea Wojan in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all of their married life. Mr. Peters worked for Mid-States Shoe Factory in Waupun for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun. He is survived by his wife Dorothea, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. Commital services for Mr. Peters will be held at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun on Sat., May 10 at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. James Herbolsheimer will officiate. Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, is in charge of arrangements. |

Dorothea B. Peters, 82, formally of Waupun, died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at Continenal Manor Nursing Home in Randolph, where when has been for the past two years. She was born Nov. 17, 1913, in Hurley, Wis., the daughter of August and Ella Wendtland Wojan. She married Harold Peters on Oct. 31, 1947, in Waupun. The couple lived their entired married life in Waupun. Dorothea was a member of Pella Lutheran Church of Waupun. She is survived by a half-sister, Audrey Seehafer of Wausau, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1986. Memorial graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 9, at 4:30 p.m. at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun with Rev. James Herbolsheimer officiating. Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun is serving the family. |
