Waupun Leader News-Feb. 3 &4 1981; Hannah Hagens, 94, a resident of the Christian Home in Waupun, died Friday evening, May 7, 1993, at the home. Mrs. Hagens was born Dec. 25, 1898 in the town of Burnett, the daughter of Allen and Edith (Harmsen) Peters. She married John Hagens on Mar. 8, 1923, in Alto. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Alto area and later moved to Brandon. She was a charter member of Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon. Survivors include two sons, Arden (Rachel) Hagens, and Howard (Jolene) Hagens, both of Madison; one daughter, Eileen (Robert) Davis, Sun City, Ariz; a special niece, Gladys (Leonard) Ter Beest, Waupun; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, with the Rev. Randall Knoll officiating. Burial followed at Brandon Cemetery in Brandon. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. |

He was born Feb. 4, 1899 in the town of Alto he son of Arie and Hannah (Boom) Hagens. On March, 8, 1923 married Hannah Peters in Alto following their marriage the couple farmed in the Alto area and later moved to Brandon where Mr. Hagens worked for the railroad and retired 1962. He was a member Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon where at one time he held the office of elder. He is survived by his wife Hannah; three sons, Aarden Hagens of Madison; Howard Hagens of Madison and LoweII Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Eileen Davis of Sturtevant.Wis. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services were held on Saturday at the Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon with Rev. Wilmar Ver Meer officiating. Burial followed at Brandon Cemetery in Brandon. Visitation was held at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home. Waupun. |
