Hattie Vande Zande was born May 17, 1887 in Town of Trenton, Waupun, Dodge County, Wisconsin, and died November 16, 1929 at her home, Route 2, Waupun, Wisconsin.  She married John Frens November 07, 1907 in Trenton township, Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.  He was born March 30, 1884 in the Netherlands, and died November 22, 1972 in St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.

Mrs. John Frens, 42, died early Friday morning at her home on Route 2, after an illness of some length. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home, and at 2 o'clock from the Reformed church, the Rev. J. S. Ter Louw of this city, and the Rev. Mr. Klerekoper of Friesland, officiating.
Pall bearers were Ben Vande Zande, Gerrit Vande Zande, Andrew Vande Zande, Jake Kamphuis, Arthur Pluim, and John Vant Hoff.
Mrs. Frens were born May 17, 1887, and has lived in the Town of Trenton most of the time. She is survived by her husband and one son, James. There are also four sisters, Miss Ida Vande Zande, Mrs. Klas Beekman, jr., Mrs. Andrew Potter, and Mrs. William Ter Beest, and three brothers, Gerrit and Martin Vande Zande of this community, and John Vande Zande of Dakota.

Funeral services for John Frens, 88, a resident of Christian Home of the Aged for nine years, who died Wednesday morning, Nov. 22, at St. Anges Hospital, held at 2 p.m. , Saturday at Emmanuel Reformed Church.
The Rev. George Chermak officated. Burial was in Forest Mound cemetery. Friends and relatives made visitation from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kohls Co., Funeral Home, and at the church from noon Saturday until the time of services.
Mr. Frens was born in The Netherlands March 30, 1884, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Frens. He came to the United States with his father at the aged of 9.
On Nov. 7, 1907, he was married to Hattie Vande Zande in the town of Alto and they farmed in the Town of Alto and Town of Trenton. Mrs. Frens died Nov. 16, 1929, and Mr. Frens retired from farming in 1930, and resided with his son, James until 1941.
He married Minnie Schouten Oct 7, 1941, and the couple lived in Waupun where Mr. Frens worked part-time as a carpenter.
Mr. Frens was a charter member of Emmanuel Reformed church, where he served as an elder for many years and taught Sunday school and catechism.
Survivors include a son, James, Waupun; five step-son, Arnold and Marvin Schouten, both of Waupun; Harold Schouten, Denver, Colo.; Clarence Schouten, Idaho; and Elmer Schouten, Green Bay.
Also surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Allan Braskamp, Waupun; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 28 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, by his second wife in October 1949 and a son, two sisters and three brothers.
