Henry Van Buren, 74, Died Suddenly Tuesday Henry Van Buren, Sr., 74, died suddenly Tuesday while working on his farm near Alto. It is believed that he died as the result of a stroke. Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) from the Christian Reformed church of Alto with the Rev. William Borgman, pastor of the church, officiating. Surviving relatives are his wife, one son, Henry, jr., of Waupun, Mrs. Henry Hendricks of this city, and Mrs. Sommerfield of Fairwater. Pallbearers will be H. Bossenbroek, A. Bossenbroek, Jake Schouten, Dick Respalje, William Schmidt, and Gerrit Veleker. |

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Van Buren, 73, who died Friday, just 17 days after her husband, were held this afternoon (Monday) from the home northwest of the city at 1 o'clock and at 2 o'clock from the Christian Reformed church of Alto, with the Rev. William Borgman in charge. Mrs. Van Buren died suddenly friday evening at about 6 o'clock. She was born on July 25, 1858. Surviving relatives are one son, Henry, of Waupun, Mrs. Henry (Ella) Hendricks of this city, and Mrs. Effie Sommerfed of Markesan. |

Mrs. Henry Hendricks Died Monday; Services Planned This Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Hendricks, Route 2, Brandon, will be held today (Thursday) at 1:15 p.m. in the Kohls Funeral home, and at 2 p.m. in the Alto Christian Reformed church. The Rev. William Alkema will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Alto cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cornelius Ter Beest, Arthur Klumpers, Frank Uebel, John Bossenbroek, Marinus Navis and William Tenpas. Mrs. Hendricks died Monday morning in the Waupun Memorial hospital, where she had been confined for the past week. Mrs. Hendricks was born Feb. 14, 1882, in the town of Waupun, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Buren. She was married to Mr. Hendricks on Jan. 12, 1928, and has resided on a small farm near Brandon since that time. Survivors include the widower; one sister, Mrs. Sam Sommerfield, Markesan, and one brother, Henry, Waupun. |

Henry J. Hendricks Died Thursday: Hold Services on Monday Henry J. Hendricks, 81, died suddenly Thursday evening in the Christian Home for the Aged following a heart attack. He had been residing in the home for the past few weeks. Mr. Hendricks was born March 25, 1874, in the town of Waupun, and was a lifelong resident of this vicinity. His marriage to Allie Van Buren orrurred Jan. 12, 1928, and they resided on a farm in this vicinity until Mrs. Hendricks' death last fall. Survivors include on brother, Bert of Waupun, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:15 p.m. in the Kohls and Giebink Funeral home, and at 2 p.m. in the Alto Christian Reformed church. The Rev. William Alkema officiated at the services. Burial was in Alto cemetery. |

Henry Van Buren Died Monday: Will Hold Service Today Henry Van Buren, 105 Hillyer street, died Monday at 11:30 a.m. while driving his car on Maxon street. Mr. Van Buren had become ill at work at the M and M Fiundry and had started to return to his home when he suffered a heart attack. Mr. Van Buren was born Oct. 19, 1894, in the town of Alto, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Buren. He was married to Jeanie Schouten on Sept. 27, 1922, and they resided on a farm in the farm in the town of Waupun until moving to Waupun in 1926. He had been employed by the foundry for many years. Mr. Van Buren was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed church, and served as an elder in the consistory of the church and as a Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Effie Sommerfield, Markesan, and several nieces and nephews. The body will lie in state at the Beyers Funeral home until noon Thursday when it will be taken to the Emmanuel Reformed church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. John Vander May officiating. Burial will be in the Alto cemetery. Six elders of the church will serve as pallbearers, Albert Johnson, Cornelius Ter Beest, John Frens, Henry R. Vande Zande, John H. Hull, and Henry Nyhuis. |

Mrs. Jeanie Van Buren, age 89, a resident of the Christian Home, Waupun died Tuesday, March 15 at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Van Buren was born June 3, 1898 in the town of Waupun, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Avery) Schouten. On Sept. 27, 1922 she married Henry Van Buren in Alto. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Waupun area all their married life. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Waupun where she had been active in its Martha Circle and Sunday School. She was also a member of the Christian Home Auxiliary. Survivors include; nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1958 and two brothers. Funeral services for Mrs. Van Buren were held Friday at 1 p.m. at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Waupun with the Rev. Robert Hekhuis officiating. Burial took place in Alto Cemetery in Alto. Visitation was held on Thurs. at the Wemer-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 5-8 p.m. and Fri. at church from noon until the hour of service |
