Funeral services for Herman O. Gerretson, 62, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First Reformed Church. The Rev. William Rosenberg officiated at the services. Vocal Selections were sung by a men's quartet composed of Edwin Redeker, Myron Kastein, Edward Vande Zande, and John Ten Hoope, with Miss Merie Lememenes as accompanist.
Burial was in Forest Mound cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Dan Holterman, Ralph Whiting, Cornelius Buteyn, George Savage, and William Glewen, Waupun and Ira Heideman, Mineral Point.
Mr. Gerretson died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, in his home at 568 East Main street, following a long illness.
He was born April 30, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Gerretson, and was married to Della Vande Zande on Sept. 18, 1913. The couple resided on farms in the vicinity of Waupun until moving to Waupun in 1947.
Survivors include the widow, a daughter, Miss Mildred, Waupun, and three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Vande Zande, Waupun, Mrs. Edith Vande Zande, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Myron Hilyer, Deerwood, Minn.
Among those from away who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Hilyer, Deerwood, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Barker, Staples, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. William Zapoctony and son, Columbus.
Mrs. Della Gerretson, 99, of 568 E. Main St., Waupun, died Friday evening, April17, 1990.
Mrs. Gerretson was born Feb. 1, 1891, in the town of trenton, the daughter of Rein and Wilhemina (Van Beek) Vande Zande. On Sept. 18, 1913, she married Herman Gerretson. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Waupun area until moving to Waupun in 1947. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun.
She is survived by a daughter, Mildred Gerretson, Waupun; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Tank, Mrs. Alice Pike and Mrs. Dorothy (Earl) Sprange, all of Waupun; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in April of 1954, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Irven Jungling officiating. Burial followed at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Visitation was held on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
