Jacob Van Buren was born June 28, 1887 in Waupun, Wisconisn, and died April 24, 1951 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.  He married Gertrude Derksen September 25, 1912 in Calvary Presbyterian Church, Alto Township, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.  She was born July 09, 1889 in Apeldoorn/Uddel, Gelderland, Netherlands, and died February 20, 1970 in Waupun Memorial Hospital, Waupun, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Jacob Van Buren, 63, died Tuesday night at St. Joseph's Hospital in Beaver Dam. He was born in the town of Waupun, June 28, 1887, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Van Buren.
Mr. Van Buren was married in 1912 to Gertrude Derksen. He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Gertrude, Anna, and Mrs. Alex Wynstra of Racine, Mrs. Leonard Kwekel of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Wilbert Pluim of Waupun; two sons, Cornelius and  Jacob of Waupun; and 11 grandchildren.
Other survivors are three brothers, Gerrit of Waupun, Albert of Fond du Lac, and Evert of Alto; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Hopp and Mrs. Henry Frens of Waupun and Mrs. John Gerritson of the town of Waupun.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Beyers Funeral home and at 2 p.m. in the Netherlands Reformed church. Burial will be in the Forest Mound cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Van Buren were held Monday, Feb. 23, at Werner-Beyers funeral home. The Rev. W.C. Lamain, Grand Rapids, officiated. Burial was in Forest Mound cemetery.
Mrs. Van Buren, 80, a resident of 27 North Watertown St., Died early Friday, Feb. 20, shortley after being admitted to Waupun Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 9, 1889, in the Netherlands, the daughter of Cornelius and Gertrude Van Engen Derksen. She moved to the United States in 1909 where she met her husband. They were married Sept. 25, 1912, in Waupun. After their marriage they made their home on a farm in the Alto area and moved to Waupun in 1945 unpon Mr. Van Buren's retirement. She was a member of Netherlands Reformed church.
Survivors include two sons, Cornelius and Jacob, Waupun; five daughters, Gertrude Van Buren, Waupun; Mrs. Wilbert Pluim, Waupun; Annie Van Buren, Mrs. Alex Wystra and Mrs. Leonard Kwekel, all of Grand Rapids; 23 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cornelius and Henry Derksen, Waupun; and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Vande Zande, and Mrs. Tom Bresser, Waupun.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1951, as well as one son, five brothers and one sister.
Her body lay in state at Werner-Beyers funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening.

Harmonis Van Buren, aged 11 years; son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob van Buren, died Sunday afternoon at the family residence three and one-half miles west of Waupun. Surviving relatives are the parents, three sisters and two brothers. The boy was born on April 16, 1913, in the Town of Alto, where he has spent his entire life. The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from the residence and at 2 p.m. from the Presbyterian church. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.

Gertrude Van Buren, 81, 331 Bly St., Waupun died Friday, July 19, 1996, at the Christian Home where she has been residing.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1914, in the town of Chester, the daughter of Jake and Gertrude Derkson Van Buren.
Gertrude was employed by various families in the area as a housekeeper and caregiver.
She was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Waupun, and a member of its Mary Martha Society.
She is survived by one brother, Jacob Van Buren, Waupun; four sisters, Jennie (Wilbert) Pluim, Waupun, Annie Van Buren,Grand Rapids, Mich., Mildred (Alex) Wynstra, Grand Rapids, Mich., and  Cora (Leonard) Kwekekl, Grand Rapids, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
The funeral service was held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Werner-Hatmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. The Rev. A.T., Vergunst officiated, burial followed in the Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Family and friends could call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
A memorial has been established in Gertrude's name for the Missions of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation.
