Peter Streekstra was married (2) to Deana Pater, September 17, 1942 in Waupun, Wisconsin. She was born February 2, 1915; died August 29, 1965. Children of Janet Riel and Henry Nummerdor are: Joyce Hilda Nummerdor, born PRIVATE. Wayne Harvey Nummerdor, born September 28, 1942 in Waupun, Wisconsin; died January 27, 2000 in Columbus Hospital, Columbus, Columbia County, Wisconsin. THE LEADER NEWS JUNE 22&24 1987; Mrs. Janet Streekstra, 68, of Route 2, Waupun, Wis., died Firday, June 19, 1987 at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Streekstra was born Feb 22, 1919, a daughter of John and Winnie Searvogel Riel in the Town of Alto. In 1941, she was married to Henry Nummerdor. On Dec 14, 1968, she was married to Peter Streekstra. He died in 1969. She was a lifetime resident of Waupun and was a member of United Methodist Church and it Church circle. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Van Houten and Carol Cole, both of Waupun; two sons, Wayne Nummerdor of Waupun and Alton Streekstra of Route 1, Brandon; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. orville (Angeline) Abel of Fontana, Calif; Mrs. Kenneth (Johanna) Ver Straate of Oostburg and Mrs. Clifford (Haleta) Otte of Sheboygan falls; five brothers, James, Walter, Garrit and Wilbert Riel, all of Waupun, and Marvin Riel of Brandon. She was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from United Methodist Church, Waupun. The Rev. Carol J. Smith officiated. Burial is at Cattaraugus Cemetery, Waupun. Friends were able to call on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun and Monday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. to the time of services. |

The Leader News-Dec. 4, 1969: Peters Streekstra, 57, Rt. 1, Waupun, died suddenly Friday morning, Nov. 28, of a heart attack while at work at the Waupun Concrete Products company. Born Sept. 17, 1912, in Randolph, Columbia County, he was the son of Henry H. and Cornelia Schaalma Streekstra. He was married Sept. 17, 1942, to Dean Pater, Waupun, who preceded hime in death in 1965. In a second marriage Dec. 27, 1968, he was married to Mrs. Janet Nummerdor, the couple residing in Waupun. He was employed by Waupun Concrete Products for the past 17 years. He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed church, Waupun. Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. David Cole, Statesville, NC.; one son, Alton, at home; two stepchildren, Mrs. Roy Van Houten, Waupun and one steson, Wayne Nummerdor, Mayville; four step-children; three brothers, Harry, Cambria, George, Friesland and Theodore, Waupun; and one stepbrother, Dick Vanden Bos, Waukegan, Ill. His body lay in state at Kohls company funeral home from Sunday at 3 p.m. until noon Monday when it was taken to Bethal Christian Reformed church where services were held at 2 p.m. the Rev. Alfred Walcott officiated. Burial was in Cattarauge cemetery. |

The Leader News-Wednesday, June 13, 1990; Alton H. Streekstra, 46, W10282 County DE West, Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, June 5, 1990, at home. Mr. Streekstra was born Feb. 25,1944, in Randolph, the son of Peter and Dena (Pater) Streekstra. He married Barbara Bauer. He attended Waupun Christian Day School. He worked for 19 years at National Rivet Mfg., retiring in 1988 due to failing health. He was a membcr of Praise Assembly of God Church, Beaver Dam. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, Beaver Dam; one stepson, Matthew, Beaver Dam; nieces and nephews; and one sister, Carol Cole, Alto. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Praise Assembly of God Church, Beaver Dam, Rev. Shawn J. Burgbachcr officiating. Burial was inCattaraugus Cemetery, Waupun. Visitation was held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun and at the church Friday from 9 a.m. to the hour of service. |
