Obituary-- Mrs. Johanna Oonk, age 53, died suddenly February 13, 1975, in the village of Oostburg, Wisconsin. She was born in Waupun, May 30, 1921, to George and Jenny Pater. She resided in Waupun until her marriage to Marvin Oonk and has since then been a resident of Oostburg, Wisconsin. She is survived by: her husband, Marvin, one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Carol) Ter Maat of Cedar Grove, Wis., 3 sons, Ronald and Roger of Oostburg and Bradley at home, 3 grandchildren, and 5 sisters: Mrs. Dick Schears, Mrs. Arthur Van Loo, Mrs. Theodore Streekstra, Mrs. Theodore Vander Woude all of Waupun and Mrs. Wilbert Smits of Aurora, Ill. Funeral services were held from the Oostburg Reformed Church on Monday, February 17 with burial in the Gibbsville Cemetery. She was buried on Feb 17 1975 in Gibbsville Cemetery, Gibbsville, WI. |

Obituary--Marvin John Oonk, 74, of 260 N. Main St., Cedar Grove, died Firday, August 30, 1991, at the Meadow View Manor Nursing Home, in Sheboygan, aftrer a short illnes. Marvin was born October 5, 1916, in the Town of Lima, the son of the late Henry and Minnie Oonk. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1934. On November 25, 1942, he married Johanna Pater in Waupun. She preceded him in death on Feburary 13, 1975. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Prange on August 9, 1980, in Cedar Grove. He was a truck driver for Northern Propane, from 1946 until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg. He enjoyed Oostburg-Cedar Grove Area Retired Mens Bowling League. he is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter, Carol (Lloyd) Ter Maat, of Cedar Grove; three sons, Ronald (Bonnie) Oonk, Roger (Mame) Oonk, and Bradley (Mary) Oonk all of Oostburg; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his first wife and his parents. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 3, 1991, at 1:30p.m. at the First Reformed Church, in Oostburg, with the Rev. Ray Tilstra, pastor, officiating. family services preceded in the church lounge at 1:15 p.m. Burial was in Gibbsville cemetery. A memorial fund was established in his name.
