Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for John A. Van Nuren, 68, who died suddenly Saturday afternonn. The services were held at 1:15 p.m. in the family home in the village of Fair Water, and at 2 p.m. in the Alto Reformed church. The Rev. H. B. Poppen officiated at the services. Burial was in the Alto cemetery.
John Van Buren was born July 4, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Van Buren, and was married Dec. 2, 1906 to Bessie Beek of the town of Alto. The couple resided on a farm in the town of Alto until moving to the village of Fair Water a few years ago.
He is survived by the widow, one son, Ellsworth, and a daughter, Mrs. Ivan Schouten, both of the town of Alto; a granddaughter, Bonnie Schouten; four brothers, James, Fair Water, Aldert, town of Trenton, Arthur, Waupun, Edward, town of Alto; three sisters, Mrs. John Vossekuil and Mrs. Cornelius Bronkhorst, Waupun, and Mrs. Barney Vande Berg, Brandon. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Ed Sasada, Alfred Zabel, Oris Jenkins, Garret Oosterwyk, John Kemink, and Will Veenendal.

Mrs. Bessie Van buren, 89, a former resident of Alto, died late Monday morning, Jan. 4 at the Waupun Christian Home, where she has been a resident for the last three years.
Mrs. Van Buren was born Sept. 4, 1881, in Alto, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fikfe Beek. She was married in 1906 in Alto to John Van Buren. They farmed in the Alto area all their life until Mr. Van Buren retired, and then moved to Fair Water.
Survivors include one son, Ellsworth Van Buren, Alto; one sister, Mrs. James Van Buren, Waupun; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953, two sisters, one brother, and one daughter.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Alto Reformed church, Alto, where she had been a member. The Rev. Richard Bouwkamp officiated. Burial was in Alto cemetery. Her body lay in state in Werner-Beyers funeral home, Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from noon until the time of service.

Ellsworth Van Buren, Alto, died Monday Jan. 26, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac at the age of 68.
He was born June 23, 1912, in Alto, the son of John and Bessie Beek Van Buren. On Aug. 24, 1937, he married to Mildred Kastein in Alto. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Alto area until 1962 at which time the couple purchased the Alto Grocery and have owned and operated it the past 19 years.
Mr. Van Buren was a member of Alto Reformed Church, a member ofthe Alto Cemetery Association and the Alto Fire Department.
Mr. Van Buren is survived  by his widow, Mildred, a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Alto Reformed Church. Rev. Cornie Keunen officiaited. burial followed at Alto Cemetery in Alto. Visitation for Mr. Van Buren was held at Werner-Harmsen funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m.and Thursday at the church from noon until time of services.

Mildred Van Buren, 83, a resident of the Christian Home, Waupun, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 at the home.
The funeral will be Monday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Alto Reformed Church. The Rev. David Klanderman will officiate. Burial will be in Alto Cemetery, Alto, Wis.
Mrs. Van Buren was born Dec. 12, 1914 in the town of Alto, Wis., daughter of John and Theodore (Neevel) Kastein. She was married to Ellsworth Van Buren in 1937 in Alto, Wis.
She farmed with her husband in the Alto area until 1962 when they purchased the Alto Grocery Store and ran it until 1981. She was a member of the Alto Reformed Church, taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of the women's Mission Circle, RCWM and a member of its Golden Lifers.
Survivors include one brother, Roger (Mabel) Kastein of Brandon, Wis.; one sister, Pearl (Lloyd) Vossekuil of Brandon, Wis.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth in 1981; and one brother, Kenneth Kastein in 1973.
Friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Monday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the church.
