Josephine Ruby Van Buren was born January 23, 1918 town of Waupun, Wisconsin, and died December 4 1994 at her home, Rounsville St., Waupun, Wisconsin.  She married Lawrence Robert Westhuis Novemeber 4, 1943 in Waupun, Wisconsin.  He was born January 19, 1918, in the town of Alto, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin; died August 19, 2005 in Waupun Christina Home, Waupun, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Josephine Westhuis, 76, Rounsville St., Waupun, died Sunday morning, Dec. 4, 1994, at her home.
Mrs. Westhuis was born Ja. 23, 1918, in the Town of Waupun, the daughter of William and Minnie (Harmsen) Van Buren. She married Lawrence Westhuis Nov. 4, 1943, in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Brandon area for 26 years and moved to Waupun in 1969. She was a member of Alto Reformed Church in Alto.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence; two daughters, Sharon Groy, and Mary (Tom) Holzman, both of Waupun; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Lester (Jeanette) Van Buren, Waupun; one sister, Margaret Knoll, Waupun; two sister-in-law, Rosalind Kemink, Waupun; and Evelyn Harmsen; Alto; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, one daughter and one son-in-law.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Alto Reformed Church in Alto, with the Rev. Robert Otto officiating. Burial followed at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Visitation was held Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Tuesday at the church from noon until the hour of service.

WAUPUN - Lawrence R. Westhuis, 87, of Waupun, died on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at the Christian Home in Waupun.
Lawrence was born on Jan. 19, 1918, in the town of Alto, the son of Ryer and Carrie (Rens) Westhuis. On Nov. 4, 1943, he married Josephine Van Buren in Waupun. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Brandon area for 26 years. In 1969, they moved to Waupun and Lawrence was employed by Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 14 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Alto Reformed Church in Alto.
Lawrence is survived by two daughters, Sharon Groy, Waupun, and Mary (Tom) Holzman, Waupun; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Harmsen, the town of Alto; one brother-in-law, Lester (Minnie) Van Buren, Waupun; one step-sister, Lucille (Germaine) Van Loo, Waupun, and one step-sister-in-law, Gladys Kastein, Waupun.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, in 1994; one daughter at birth in 1946; two sisters, Alice Flegner and Rosalind Kemink, and one son-in-law, James Groy.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Alto Reformed Church in Alto. The Rev. Dr. Gregg Pusateri will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Friends and relatives may call at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, on Sunday, Aug. 21, from 4 until 6 p.m. and on Monday, Aug. 22 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
