The Leader News-March 15 & 16, 1983: Junice Sjoerdsma, 55, 520 Pleasant Ave., Waupun, died late Sunday evening. Mar. 13, at Hillside Hospital in Beaver Dam. She was born in Alto Sept. 24, 1927, the daughter of John H. and Lucy (Hopp) Vant Hoff. May 26, 1950, she was married to Joe Sjoerdsma in Waupun. She had been employed by the former Huth-James and Wisconsin Shoe Companies at Waupun. She had also been self-emplyed seamstress for a number of years. Mrs. Sjoerdsma was a member of the First Reformed Church. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Jean Sjoerdsma, Madison; two sisters, Bertha (Ray) TerBeest, Markesan; Lucille (Edward) Kloostra, Burnett; and two brothers, Ellsworth Vant Hoff, Waupun, and Howard Vant Hoff, Randolph. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Visitation will be Tuesday, Mar. 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun and at the church from noon until the service. The funeral will be held at the First Reformed Church, Wednesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Irven Jungling officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.
