Louis E. Hopp, 59, 609 Edgewood Dr., Waupun, died June 25, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Jan. 19, 1923, in the town of Alto the son of Henry and Elizabeth Van Buren Hopp. He married Irene Grothhuis. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married life. Mr. Hopp was employed by the Classmate and Midstate Shoe Company until 1974 at which time he became employed as plant operator for the Waupun Public Utilities. He was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church in Waupun.
He is survived by his widow Irene; a son David, Waupun; three daughters, Marlene Hopp, Los Angeles, CA; Mary Ann Hemming, Marshalltown, IA; and Cindy Hopp, Wausau; two brothers, Jake, Waupun; and Henry Hopp, Waupun; a sister, Lydia Asmus, Waupun; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services for Mr. Hopp will be held Tuesday June 29 at 2 p.m. at the Emmanuel Reformed Church with the Rev. Elton Van Pernis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from noon until time of services.
