Marvin J. Riel BRANDON, Wis.--- Marvin J. Riel, 67, of 307 Madison St., Brandon, Wis., died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, Wis. The funeral was Monday, Jan. 13, at the Kohl's Community Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Gena Garton officated. Burial was in Alto Cemetery, Alto, Wis. Mr. Riel was born June 26, 1929 in the town of Alto, the son of John and Winnie(Searvogel) Riel. He was married to Frances Witthun. He was a truck driver employed by Bird Truck for over 29 years and then retired. He was also on the Ripon Bowling League. Survivors include his wife, Frances; eight children, David (Lois) Riel of Randolph, Rosemary Wapneski of Randolph, Kevin (Betty) Riel of Beaver Dam, Michael (Karen) of Beaver Dam, Paul (Sally) Riel of Burnett, Keith (Merri) Riel of Lake Park, Fla., Lori (Tim) Nickel of Brownsville, Wis., John Berger of Mineral Point, Wis., special friend, Leona Berger of Brandon, Wis.; 21 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four brothers, James (Alice) Riel, Wilbert (Joyce) Riel, all of Waupun; three sisters, Angeline Abel of Waupun, Johanna (Kenneth) Ver Straate of Oostburg, Wis., Haleta (Clifford) Otte of Sheboygan Falls, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters. Friends called on Monday Jan. 13, at the Kohl's Community Funeral Home, Waupun. Memorials may be made to the Marvin Riel family.
