Mrs. Reyer Van Loo, 89, died at her home in the township of Alto last Thursday at 9:30 a.m. She had been in falling health for the past year. Nee Alida Kappers, Mrs. Van Loo was born Jan 24, 1857, in Sheboygan. She was married to Reyer Van Loo in Alto on Sept 4, 1878. Mr. Van Loo died 47 years ago. Survivors are: six sons, Albert, Benjamin, and Reyer Van Loo, at home. Cornelius of the town of Waupun, Ralph of Brandon, and John of Waupun; two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Hopp of Waupun and Miss Winnie Van Loo at home. 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The Rev. J. C. Van Wyk officiated at the funeral services in the Beyers Funeral home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Alto Reformed church. Pallbearers were Cornelius Bronkhorst, Chris D. Vande Berg, and Ed Van Loo of Waupun, Matt Redeker of Alto, and William Smits and Louis J. Redeker of Brandon. Burial was in Alto cemetery. |

Services Held Wednesday for Reyer Van Loo, Who Died in Alto on Sunday Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Beyers Funeral home for Reyer Van Loo, 53, who died of a heart ailment Sunday at 11 p.m. in his home in the town of Alto. The Rev. J.C. Van Wyk of the Alto Reformed church officiated at the service and burial was made in the Alto cemetery. Pallbearers wee Raymond C. Van Loo, James Van Loo, Arthur Van Loo, James Frens, Doyle Smith and Elmer Van Buren. Mr. Van Loo who been in ill health for a number of years, was born Sept. 4, 1893 in the town of Alto, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Reyer Van Loo, sr. He is survived by five brothers, Cornelius W., John and Ralph Van Loo of Waupun, Albert and Benjamin Van Loo of Alto, and two sisters, Mrs. John Hopp of Waupun and Miss Winnie Van Loo of Alto. |

Waupun Leader News-Jan. 2&3, 1980: Benjamin Van Loo, 84, Waupun Christian Home, died Tuesday evening Dec. 25, 1979 at Waupun Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 1895 in Alto, a son of Ryer and Alyda Kapers Van Loo. He was never married. Mr. Van Loo worked for farmers in the area for many years. He was a member of Alto Reformed Church. He is survived by nieces and nephews. His parents, five brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Cornie Keunen officiated. Burial was in Alto Cemetery. |
