The Portage Daily Register-April 11, 1992: RIO/WYOCENA - Victor I. Bisbee, aged 82, of the Columbia County Nursing Home in Wyocena, died there on Friday, April 10, 1992. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, 1992 at 11 a.m., at the Vangen Funeral Home in Rio with the Rev. Keith Epps officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyocena Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, April 12, 1992 from 2to4 p.m. at the Vangen Funeral Home in Rio and on Monday after 10 a.m. until time of service. He was born on June 6, 1909 in Poynette, Wis., to C.C. and Ada (Allen) Bisbee. He married the former Kathleen Madden in Watertown, Wis, on December 15, 1934. He work initially at Badger Ordinance after serving a period of time with the Coast Guard. He went on to own and operate the Gambles Hardware Store in Rio for five years. He also was a deputy sheriff in Columbia County for eight years. He later became Register of Deeds for Columbia County for ten years before retirement. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Rio; one daughter, Eleanor (Richard) Seely of Portage; two grandchildren, Terry Seely and Lisa Seely; one sister, Ruth Meiller of Crown Point, Ind., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; three brothers, Vernon, Robert and Russell and one sister, June Bublitz.
