The Capital Times-Jan. 5, 1983: MADISON - Mrs. Viola I. Tobias, aged 84, of 202 North Brearly Street, died Tuesday, January 4, 1983, In a Madison hospital. She was born on August 14, 1898 in Portage and lived in Madison most of her life. She was member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Donald J. of Madison; a daughter Joyce Stegner of Costa Mesa, California; a sister, Sister Mercy of Sinsinawa, Iowa; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Main St, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 6 with Father Bruce M. Hennington officating. Burial will be Resurrection cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5 at the GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr. where there will be a scripture service held at 7:30 p.m.
