WAUPUN -William "Bill" Van Ruiswyk, 83, of Waupun, died on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 9:30 a.m., at Alto Reformed Church, Alto. The Revs. Ted Lindman and Ted Medema will officiate. Burial will be in Alto Cemetery, Alto.
Mr. Van Ruiswyk was born on Jan. 5, 1917, in the town of Trenton, the son of Henry and Jessie (Riel) Van Ruiswyk. He was married on Feb. 11, 1943, to Henrietta Vande Berg in Alto.
Mr. Van Ruiswyk and his wife farmed in the town of Alto for 37 years. He later worked at Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun, from which he retired after 13 years. He was a member of Alto Reformed Church, of which he was a past elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was on the board of the Presbyterian Cemetery in the town of Alto for 45 years. He was active with the Alto Fair, Farm Bureau and the Oak Grove school board.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Van Ruiswyk, Waupun; one son, Harold (Barbara) Van Ruiswyk, Waupun; one daughter, Winnojean (Robert) Scheuers, Waupun; four grandchildren, Lisa (Steven) Knudson, Amy (Kevin) Flynn, Robert (Gerda) Scheuers Jr. and Rebecca Scheuers; three great-grandchildren, Robert Anthony Scheuers, Sean Scheuers and Zachery Scheuers; one brother, James Van Ruiswyk, Waupun; one sister, Elizabeth Bille, Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jacob; an infant son; an infant sister; and an infant brother.
Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. until the time of service, at Alto Reformed Church, Alto.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m., at the Alto Reformed Church. The Rev. Dr. Gregg Pusateri will officiate. Burial will be in the Alto Cemetery.
Mrs. Van Ruiswyk was born on April 29, 1921, in the town of Metomen, the daughter of John and Bessie (Vanden Berg) Vande Berg. She was married on Feb. 11, 1943, to William Van Ruiswyk in Alto.
Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the town of Alto for 37 years, then moved to Waupun in the late 70s. Henrietta was employed with Waupun Launders and Dry Cleaners for several years. She was a member of Alto Reformed Church, where she was a member of its Mission Circle.
Survivors include one daughter, Winnojean (Robert) Scheuers, Waupun; one son, Harold (Barbara) Van Ruiswyk, Waupun; four grandchildren, Lisa (Steven) Knudson, Amy Flynn, Robert (Gerda) Scheuers Jr., and Rebecca Scheuers; four great-grandchildren, Robert Anthony Scheuers, Sean Scheuers, Zachery Scheuers, and Nicoli Scheuers; five brothers, Bernard (Muriel) Vande Berg, Chester (Ruth) Vande Berg, Preston (Carol) Vande Berg, all of Waupun, Donald (Donna)Vande Berg, Markesan, and Wallace (Arlene) Vande Berg, Brandon; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on Nov. 1, 2000; an infant son, and three brothers, Alvin, Edward, and Raymond "Mike" Vande Berg.

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. William Van Ruiswyk, born July 22, died Wednesday, July 28. A funeral service was held in the Alto cemetery with the immediate relatives attending. Mr. John Kemink had charge due to the adsence of the Rev. J. C. Van Wyk.
