Waupun Leader News-Feb. 17, 1972: Hold Tuesday Rites for Edith Vande Zande Mrs. Edith Vande Zande, 83, a resident of Waupun Christian Home for the Aged, died Sunday, Feb. 13, in Waupun Memorial hospital. She was born March 4, 1888, in the town of Waupun, the daughter of Harmon and Jane Van Buren Gerretson. She was married to John Vis in 1910 and he preceded her in death in 1919. She was later married to John M. Vande Zande in 1928, and he preceded her in 1955. She was also preceded by two sisters and one brother. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William Zapotony, Columbus; two sons, Bernard Vis, Milwaukee, and Harmon Vis, Waupun; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Myron Hillyer, Deerwood, Minn. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Kohls company funeral home. The Rev. Donald Boss, First Reformed church, officiated. Burial was in Forest Mound cemetery. Visitation was held in the funeral home Monday from 4-9 p.m.
