Daily Citizen, Jan 24, 2003: Betty A. Posthuma WAUPUN - Betty A. Posthuma, 71, of Waupun, died on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Waupun Memorial Hospital, Waupun, following a lengthy battle with diabetes. The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Rick Boon will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. Betty was born on April 7, 1931, in Reedsburg, the daughter of Lawrence and Margaret (Sandmeyer) All. She was married to Jacob Posthuma. Following their marriage, the couple resided in the Waupun area all their married life. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Waupun. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, baking and ceramics. Survivors include her husband, Jacob, Waupun; five sons, Allan (Linda) Posthuma, Beaver Dam, David (Deborah) Posthuma, Fox Lake, Gary (Diane) Posthuma, Waupun, Brian (Marcia) Posthuma, Fox Lake, and Rodney (Brenda) Posthuma, Beaver Dam; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald (Carol) All, Neenah; five sisters, Arlene Smolen and her husband Mike Kenevan, Columbus, Shirley (Merlin) Tolsma, Fox Lake, Patricia (Ardy) Wiersma, Manchester, Nancy (Larry) Engel, Markesan, and Anita Miller, Texas; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three infant sons; her parents; an infant sister, and two great-grandsons. Friends called on Friday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and may call on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the First Reformed Church, Waupun. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Diabetes Foundation. |

Rites Held Wednesday For Posthuma Infant Private funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Jan. 12, in Kohls company funeral home for the stillborn infant son of Jake and Betty Ann All Posthuma, Rt. 1, Waupun. The baby died at birth Jan. 10, in Waupun Memorial hospital. Two brothers preceded him in death in infancy, and a grandfather, John Posthuma, also preceded. Survivors include the parents and five brothers, Allen Dale, David Douglas, Gary Lee, Brian Jacob and Rodney Raymond, all at home; and grandparents, Mrs. John Posthuma, Waupun: and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence All, Fox Lake. The Rev. Peter Vis, pastor of First Christian Refromed church of Randolph, officiated. Burial was in Forest Mound cemetery. |
