John E. Posthuma, rural Randolph, died Wednesday morning, April 15, at his home at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife, Clara; 11 children, Mrs. Marvin (Agnes) Schmidt, Fox Lake; Ell, Beaver Dam; Jake, Waupun; Mrs.Orlie (Grace) Fietz, Waupun; Carl, Randolph; Mrs. Jerry (Jeannette) Tjepkema, Waupun; Mrs. Clinton (Sylvia) Smith, Waupun; Clarence, Randolph; Jim, Fox Lake; Mrs. Ronald (Claraine) Buetyn, Waupun, and Alvin, Randolph; 45 grandhcildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, August and Eli, Randolph; and one sister, Mrs. John (Jennie) Kikkert, Beaver Dam. His parents, three brothers and four grandchildren preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Friday, April 17, at 2 p.m. in the First Randolph Christian Reformed church, East Friesland. The Rev. Peter Vis officiated. Burial was in Friesland cemetery. |

Mrs. Clara Posthuma, 71, of 204 Johnson Street, Waupun, died Friday, July 6, 1973 at the Waupun Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, July 9 at the First Randolph Christian Reformed Church, Friesland. Rev. John DeHaan officiated with burial in the Friesland Cemetery. Mrs. Posthuma was,born October 15, 1901 in the Netherlands, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hoffman. She married John Posthuma on November. 4, 1919 at Cambria. She is survived by eleven children, Mrs. Marvin (Agnes) Schmidt, Fox Lake; Ell, Beaver Dam; Jake, Waupun; Mrs.Orlie (Grace) Fietz, Waupun; Carl, Randolph; Mrs. Jerry (Jeannette) Tjepkema, Waupun; Mrs. Clinton (Sylvia) Smith, Waupun; Clarence, Randolph; Jim, Fox Lake; Mrs. Ronald (Claraine) Buetyn, Waupun, and Alvin, Randolph; 46 grandhcildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Sam Hotfman of Randolph.
