The Neighbors-January 1, 2000: WAUPUN - Marie Beatrice Kloostra, 76, of 915 E. Main St., Waupun, died on Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at the Markesan-Resident Home, where she resided the past four months. The funeral was on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m., at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. The Rev. Donald Deike officiated. Burial was in the Alto Cemetery, Alto. Mrs. Kloostra was born on March 18, 1923, in the town of Alto, daughter of Anthony S. and Jenny (Van Buren) Loomans. She was married on Feb. 2, 1943, to Leonard Kloostra. She was a homemaker; lived in Waupun area most of her life, and was a member of Grace Reformed Church, Fond du Lac. Survivors include two daughters, Jill (Dennis) Beuthin, Ripon, and Kanda (Richard) Zabrowski, Ripon; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Kyle) Zahnow, Green Lake, Cory Faber, Madison, Mitch (Angie) Beuthin, New Berlin, Kim Faber, Princeton, Nickoel Zabrowski, Van Dyne, Leslie and Kelsey Zabrowski, Ripon; one great-grandchild, Ashley Zahnow, Green Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; one daughter, Judy Faber, and one brother, Alfred Loomans. Friends called on Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. A memorial has been established. |

Leonard Kloostra, 67, of Route 3, Waupun, died January 23, 1986, at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kloostra was born June 11, 1918, in Friesland, Wis., the son of Joe and Jennie Havinga Kloostra. On Feb. 2, 1943, he married Marie Loomans in Waupun. He had been employed by the M & M Gray Iron Foundry in Waupun. He was an active member of the Grace Reformed Churh of Fond du Lac. Mr. Kloostra served with the Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Marie; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Judy) Faber, Mrs. Dennis (Jill) Beuthin, and Mrs. Richard (Kanda) Zabrowski, all of Ripon; three brothers, Herman Kloostra of Cambria, Peter Kloostra of Randolph, and Edward Kloostra of Waupun; one sister, Mrs. Tillie Vant Hoff of Friesland; grandchildren. Mr. Kloostra was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Private funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 25, at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun. The Rev. Howard Vande Gutche officiated. Burial is at Alto cemetery. |
