The Leader News July 14&15, 1987: Mr. Robert J. Robbins, 65, 321 Kane St., Fall River died Monday, July 6 1987 at his home. Mr. Robbins was born Aug. 31, 1921 in Waupun, Wis., the son of the late Walter and Clara Pobanz Robbins. He married the Dorothy Melby on June 23, 1943 in Westby and had lived in Jackson and Waupun before moving to Fall River in 1952. Bob was a member of the Fall River United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir, was a member of the Fall River VFW and the Columbus Masonic Lodge, and a former member of the Fall River Village Board and the Fall River Fire Department. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the 101st Airbone Divison in Europe. He qraduate from Waupun High School in 1940. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Fall River; one son Greg (Jan) of Columbus; three daughters, Diane Tieman of Columbus, Jane Robbins of Tucson, AZ, and Mrs Gary (Lori) Helming of Randolph; one brother, Russell J. (Betty) Robbins of West Bend; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sisiter, Lori. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 9, at 2 p.m. from the Fall River United Methodist Church. The Rev. Stuart K. Allen officiated. Burial with military rites by the Fall River VFW was in the Fall River Cemetery. The Jones Funeral Home, Columbus was in charge of arrangements.
