EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS
1999-2004. GIS Day/Geography Awareness Week. A grassroots event that formalizes the practice of GIS users and vendors of opening their doors to schools, businesses, and the general public to showcase real-world applications of this important technology. Officially proclaimed the City of Saskatoon to participate in GIS Day/Geography Awareness activities. Educated over 250 children and 150 adults about GIS and the application into their lives and work. Currently planning 2005 events. 1999. MapInfo Education Tutorial. Three day instructional tutorial about using MapInfo GIS in an education school setting. Taught main focus of GIS and application particularly useful for an educational background. 2001. Saskatchewan Forestry Expo. Exhibitor for the Saskatchewan’s largest forestry shows. The goals of which was to provide a vehicle by which businesses, agencies and individuals involved with the forestry business may exhibit their goods and services that pertain to forestry in Saskatchewan. As well, to provide an educational opportunity to understand the complexities of the forest industry as well as have the opportunity to keep up-to-date with recent technology in forestry. 2002.
