• The first  ensemble’s title was “Chornogora”
• During the totalitarian regime “Halychyna" was disgraced.
• Among all folklore Ukraine’s collectives “Halychyna" was the only one that was honored to open an “Olympiad-80". 
• The collective was forced to change a name for having a possibility to dance.

Chuperchuk Yaroslav, the legendary Ukrainian folklorist and choreographer, AvramenkoÂ’s pupil, founded the Ensemble in 1946.  The first ensemble’s name was “Chornogora", that goes from Carpathian Mountain, connected with the glory of popular hero Oleksa Dovbush. Recreation of unique standards and inexhaustible riches of vocal and choreographic folklore on stage contributed to collectiveÂ’s success, and for short time it gains acknowledgement and popularity in our country and abroad. 
Chuperchuk heads “Halychyna" during 26 years comes forward as a soloist-dancer and folklore singer.  At that time the ensemble obtained rank “honored" (1963). From that time on the ensemble visited Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Prague… It’s heavy to define what city was more successful; the ensemble was excellently perceived everywhere due to its high dancing level and folklore refinement.
In 1956 year, when Lviv became 700 years old, the ensemble prepared a new large program, based on Halychyna region’s folklore.  That was the reason for changing of collective’s name to  "Halychyna".
In 1957 the collective obtained a silver medal on VI World young people’s and students festival (Moscow).
1969. For propaganda of Ukrainian folklore “Halychyna” was honored as vocal-choreographic Ukraine’s ensemble. 
 1969. Nizza. France. 34-th International festival of folklore collectives. 8 thousand onlookers met each number by stormy flaps. Jury condemned grand-prize to “Halychyna”. «You have wonderful songs and dances. There’re much fire and sincere humor. That's the reason why you big nation. Your sun art helped us to see and comprehend the life of your people more brightly». These warm words were proclaimed by mayor of Nizza on solemn ceremony with handing of Big festival medal. 
Galichina’s achievements - honorable diploma from Supreme Council ooff Ukraine, the rank of honored folk and dance ensemble of Ukraine, numerous gold and silver medals of international festivals and competitions.
“Halychyna" is very special ensemble: its participants are singers and dancers at the same time. Their Program attracts by virtuosity, spontaneity, beauty, by ability to bring all of colors of popular art.
Unique “Halychyna" is the original standards of popular singing and choreography of different ethnographic Ukraine’s regions.
For years of its existence collective held hearts of numerous onlookers in Ukraine and from abroad. “Halychyna" brought the wide world to submission! Fans from Europe, America and Australia applauded them.  "Halychyna"  took part in of different folklore festivals: France (1969,1993), Belgium (1991), Great Britain (1993), Denmark (1995), USA and Canada (1993, 1999), Italy (1998), Portugal (2000) etc.
During the totalitarian regime “Halychyna" was disgraced. That’s why the ensemble was forced to change its own name on “Carpathian" temporally only for having a possibility to work. But without respect to this, the ensemble was the only one to be honoured to open Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980. 
“Halychyna" is unfading flower in bright chaplet of popular creation, clean inexhaustible intercourse gladness source from authentic art.
The year of Chernobyl catastrophe the ensemble came forward with charitable concerts for superventions liquidators. The Concerts took place in alienate zone.
The most interesting is that some time in preparatory collective group flared up former Lviv citizen, and today Russian star Angelic Varum. There are even some photographs, where she dances Ukrainian dancing.
For years of its existence collective had joint appearances with such stars of Ukrainian stage, as Nina Matvienko,  Ivan Poponych, Pavlo Dvorsky,  Mykola Slyvotsky, Oksana and Igor Bilozir, Igor Kushpler.  There is need to mention a narrow “Halychyna’s" cooperation with Staff orchestra of Carpathian military district and a joint concert with “Drill Team" (honorable USA President guard) for regal Denmark family.
